MIL-DTL-62366D(AT)
0.0±0.5 Vdc (low) and 2.5±0.5 (high). There shall be no loss of continuity or degradation of
performance.
4.3.5.5.2.1 Duty cycle test. To determine conformance to 3.4.6.2, the slip ring assembly
shall be rotated at 12 rpm for 8 revolutions and then reversed for 8 revolutions while carrying
current as specified below. There shall be no loss of continuity or degradation of performance.
a. a. Continuous:
7A
b. b. Transient:
10 A, 1.5 to 40 seconds
50 A, 0.15 to 3.0 seconds
100 A, 0.035 to 0.8 seconds
4.3.5.5.2.2 Capacitance test. To determine conformance to 3.4.6.2.1, the capacitance of
each control circuit shall be observed between each conductor and its shield, with the shield and
slip ring housing connected to ground. Capacitance shall not exceed 600 pF. Test frequency
shall be between 10 and 200 kHz.
4.3.5.5.2.3 Noise test. To determine conformance to 3.4.6.2.2, all pins of the connector
on the brush side shall be shorted together and the noise voltage observed across any two
connector pins. A 5 milliamp (mA) current shall be passed through the rings being measured
while the slip ring assembly is rotated at 8 rpm. The noise voltage shall be observed on an
oscilloscope and the peak level shall not exceed 400 V.
4.3.5.5.3 Power and control rings verifications.
4.3.5.5.3.1 Dielectric withstanding voltage test. To determine conformance to 3.4.6.3.1,
apply a test potential of 500 V rms, 60 Hz, for a period of 15 seconds between all circuits and the
case, and from each circuit to all others. (All subsequent testing of dielectric withstanding
voltage shall be conducted at 400 V rms, 60 Hz.) There shall be no damage or performance
degradation as a result of this test.
4.3.5.5.3.2 Insulation resistance test. To determine conformance to 3.4.6.3.2, an
insulation resistance test shall be made between each circuit and between each circuit and the
case. A test voltage of at least 100 Vdc shall be applied at 50 to 60% relative humidity.
Insulation resistance shall be not less than 100 M between mutually insulated points.
4.3.5.5.3.3 Resistance test. To determine conformance to 3.4.6.3.3, the resistance of
each ring shall be observed from pin to pin of the input and output connectors while the slip ring
assembly is rotated at a speed of 8 to 10 rpm. (Resistance measurements shall be made at
intervals of 30 degrees (°) if statically determined.) The resistance shall be as specified in tables
IV and V, as applicable.
4.3.5.6 Electromagnetic coupling. To determine conformance to 3.4.7, electromagnetic
coupling verification shall be as specified below.
