MIL-DTL-53078A
3.4.1.1 Input power. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), the requirements specified
herein are applicable when an input voltage within the range of 18 to 30 volts direct current
(Vdc) is applied to terminals J1-K (positive) and J1-C (return) of the converter box (see 4.5.3.1).
3.4.1.2 Signal processing. For an input sine wave signal of 350 (+35, -0.0) millivolts
peak-to-peak (mVp-p) to 4.0 ±1.0 volts peak-to-peak (Vp-p) between terminals J1-E and J1-F at
frequencies of 50 ±5.0 to 1000 ±100 Hertz (Hz) the output signal between terminals J1-H
(positive) and J1-C (return) shall be a pulse of 17.0 to 30.0 volts maximum amplitude and
0.3 ±0.2 volts minimum amplitude with a pulse duration of 2.0 ±1.0 milliseconds and a signal
period of 13.06 (+1.45, -1.19) to 0.653 (+0.073, -0.059) (the converter shall divide the input
signal frequency by 653.0) (see 4.5.3.2).
3.4.1.2.1 Noise level. There shall be 0.3 ±0.2 Vdc present between the output terminals
J1-H (positive) and J1-C (return) for an input signal between terminals Jl-E and Jl-F of
25 mVp-p or less for frequencies of 5 Hz to 10 KHz (10000 Hz) (see 4.5.3.3).
3.4.2 Structural adapter. The structural adapter shall be assembled in accordance with
Drawing 13228E2066. The structural adapter when supported by the telescoping arms, and
pintle mounting bar, shall support the mounting of the CLAMS dispenser box and heat insulation
panels. The dispenser box shall pivot within the mounting clevis of the structural adapter with
all heat insulation panels installed (see 4.5.3.4).
3.5 Design and construction. The mounting kit shall conform to the parts inventory list
of 13228E2100.
3.5.1 Dimensions.
3.5.1.1 Structural adapter and heat insulation panels. The CLAMS structural adapter
shall be fabricated in accordance with Drawing 13228E2066. The insulation panels shall be
fabricated in accordance with Drawings 13228E2040, 13228E2045, 13228E2048, 13228E2052.
3.5.1.2 Converter box housing. The converter box housing shall conform to the
requirements of Drawing 13228E2030.
3.5.2 Interchangeability. Mounting kit components shall possess such functional and
physical characteristics as to be equivalent in performance, reliability, and maintainability to
another item of similar or identical purposes. See MIL-HDBK-505 for guidance.
3.5.3 Soldering. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), soldering of electrical connections
shall be in accordance with IPC J-STD-001.
3.5.4 Hardware. Mounting hardware shall be selected from AN, NAS, MS, or
commercial standards.
3.5.5 Electromagnetic interference/electromagnetic compatibility (EMI/EMC).
