MIL-DTL-46725D(AT)
6. NOTES
(This section contains information of a general or explanatory nature that may be helpful,
but is not mandatory.)
6.1 Intended use. The valves covered by this performance specification are intended to be
used to manually select the fluid flow paths in a 3000 psi hydraulic system in order to control
cylinder actuation. They are intended for use with the loader-transporter, guided missile
(Hawk-Loader). These valves are military unique because they must operate satisfactorily
throughout a hydraulic range of 0 to 20 684 kPa (3000 psi), and at a temperature range from
- 65°F to + 160°F which exceed any commercial ranges.
6.2 Acquisition requirements. Acquisition documents must specify the following:
a. Title, number, and date of this specification.
b. Type and class of valve required (see 1.2).
c. Issue of DoDISS to be cited in the solicitation, and if required, the specific issue of
individual documents referenced (see 2.2.1 and 2.3).
d. When first article is required and if samples are to be preproduction or initial
production(see 3.1 and 4.1.1).
e. Valve finish if other than as specified (see 3.5.1).
f. If nameplate is to be included (see 3.5.2).
g. Sampling requirements (see 4.1.2.1).
h. Test conditions, if other than as specified (see 4.3.2).
i. Packaging requirements (see 5.1).
j. PIN and quantity required (see 6.3).
6.3 Part or identifying number (PIN). The pins to be used for valves acquired to this
specification are established as follows:
