COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
BRACKET ASSEMBLY, LIQUID CONTAINER. FIVE GALLON
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description (CID) for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE.
This CID covers a bracket assembly used for securing 5 gallon liquid containers to military vehicles. The assembly consists of a bracket and a strap assembly.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
2.1 Materials. Unless otherwise specified herein or in the applicable engineering drawing (AED), the material used shall be in accordance with the manufacturer’s material specifications/drawings. The use of recovered material made in compliance with regulatory requirements is acceptable providing that all requirements of this CID are met (see 5.4).
2.1.1 Carbon steel. The bracket shall be made of carbon steel, hot rolled or cold rolled (2 millimeters (mm) nominal thickness), drawing quality temper 4 or 5, Unified Numbering System (UNS) G 10080 through G 10200 in the form of sheet or strip (see 5. 1.2).
